StudentNews for April 5, 2012

2012 marks the second Eve of the 7th Season celebration. Started in the Spring of 2011, Eve of the 7th Season is a new campus tradition to mark students' transition from junior to senior. It is the eve of their 7th semester on campus (thus the name). The students begin at the West Street gate in front of the Christian Center (pictured) and weave their way through campus, by candlelight, visiting the historical markers on the way: the Major's Tomb, the M-Bench, the Bowl and Potted Oak, the cannon and bell, and finally the brick gates at Whitworth. At each marker a student selected from the class reads a reflection on the significance of the item at Millsaps and the virtues that it represents. The event concludes with a reception at the Weems House.
