NEW SOPHOMORE-LEVEL COURSE SEQUENCING IN THE ELSE SCHOOL

The sophomore-level courses for students interested in Accounting, Business Administration or Economics are:
  • Fall semester: Principles of Financial Accounting (ACCT 2000) and Principles of Management (MGMT 2000)
  • Spring semester: Managerial Accounting, Budgeting, and Systems Control (ACCT 2010) and Principles of Economics (ECON 2000)
                                                

FRENCH/SPANISH PLACEMENT TEST
Tuesday, April 2 at 11:30
Language Lab Murrah Hall ANNEX 301
Want to study FRENCH or SPANISH in the fall? Then read on, this message is for you. It will help you register for the proper course.
· If you had a year or more of French or Spanish in high school and wish to continue the study of that language, then you must take the placement test (exceptions are listed below).
· If you took the placement test more than a year ago and placed in 1010 or 2000 (and did not have the opportunity to practice) then you have to retake the test.
· Come to the Placement Test – Tuesday, April. 2 in MH Annex 301 (Language LAB) at 11:30.  BRING YOUR STUDENT ID.
The test takes no more than 65 minutes and results will be e-mailed to you.
· If you took AP French or Spanish, the International Baccalaureate, the Cambridge A-level Exam, e-mail me your scores and I will inform you if you need to take the test and/or your placement.
  • If you had less than one year of French or Spanish in high school, then register for 1000. You do not need to take the placement test.
  • If you wish to study a new language, then register for 1000. You do not need to take the placement test.
  • If you are taking (or took already) a language course at Millsaps, then register for the next level. You do not need to take the placement test.
                                                       


RWANDA GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION
Theme: “Let us commemorate the genocide of the Tutsi as we learn from our history". Movie: "As We Forgive." Monday April 2nd at 6PM in Olin 100. Please join us.
                                                      


2ND ANNUAL MUSCLES BUILD WELL EVENT!
Come out on Thursday April 12th at 4:00pm to the Galloway Lawn to participate in the 2nd annual Muscles Build Well event!
This year, the event is a three-part water relay! Teams of four can sign up to participate outside the caf.
Don't want to participate in the water relay? Come out and buy your way into the game to create extra obstacles for the participants in the form of ... water balloons!
All proceeds for the water relay will go to charity: water, an organization that builds wells and sanitary facilities in areas without easy access to clean water (Check out charitywater.com for more information).
                                                          



HONOR COUNCIL APPLICATION
The Honor Council is now accepting applications for the Fall 2012 to Spring 2013 semesters. Positions open include 1 (rising) sophomore, 2 (rising) juniors, and 1 (rising) senior. RAISING CANES and RELAY FOR LIFE
Raising Canes will contribute 15% of the proceeds from sales on the nights April 2nd and April 24, 2012 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. to the American Cancer Society and the Millsaps Majors 2012 Hinds County Relay for Life. Please come out and support this cause! No coupon needed, but you must mention Relay for Life at the time of purchase.
                                                               


TICKET APPEALS
Monday, April 9th at 7PM in Murrah 201. If you have gotten a ticket and feel that you didn't deserve to get it you can appeal it on Tuesday! Sign up through the campus security office to get a form or go to their website to sign up. See you there!
                                                     



SINGERS AUDITIONS
Dr. Tim Coker will have auditions for those wishing to be in Singers next year (2012-13) on April 9-10 @ 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the AC 162.
