ALL EVENTS ARE FREE TO THE PUBLIC

October 17
  • Try some authentic Roman appetizers at 11 in front of the CAF. 
  • Watch 50 Millsaps students demonstrate Greek military formations at 1 in the Bowl. 
  • Explore ancient beer making with Dr. Bowley in his lecture “Have a Beer, Bible Reader” at 6:15 in Olin 100.
October 18
  • Watch the feature film Wrath of the Titans at 6 in Olin 100 
October 19
  • Join Dr. Yates at 12:30 in AC215 as he examines how Alexander the Great’s destruction of the Persian capitol, Persepolis, still influences us today in his lecture “Persepolis Burning.”
October 20
  • Explore Roman dining customs and how they illustrate Roman attitudes and ideologies with Katherine Dunbabin at 5:30 in the Recital Hall (A Norton Lecture of the Archaeological Institute of America).

Interested in Sociology or Anthropology? Wondering what sociology and anthropology are? Considering a major or a minor?  Want to know more? 

Come to the Sociology/Anthropology Department (on the 3rd floor of Sullivan Harrell Hall) this Thursday, October 11 at 4:15pm for an information session. All of the department professors will be there to discuss classes, research, and other opportunities within sociology and anthropology and to answer your questions! 

You will have the chance to meet some current SOAN majors, members of the Anthropology club, and all of the professors currently teaching. Snacks will be provided, and everyone is welcome!

Join us on Thursday to find out what Sociology and Anthropology are all about!

Homecoming Court Nominations

Elections will be held from 8:00 AM on October 10th to 8:00 PM on October 11th and Queen “runoffs” will be held on October 12th.
