Take Back the Night
Hey, want to support survivors of sexual & domestic abuse, attend a giant thrift sale, & have a crazy campus- wide party with the Lazy Boi Band & The Great States?? Great news. With Take Back the Night, you can. Take Back the Night is a campus wide effort to acknowledge and support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, while supporting the local midtown shelter Matt's House.
Here's what's up:
1. Donate all and any clothes you want to the buckets in your dorm laundry rooms. We'll pick them up. You don't have to do much work. Just donate. We're going to sell them.
2. Show up on Friday April 25th to the thrift sale starting at 5pm in Galloway Green. Chat with friends. Buy some stuff. Get some swag.
3. Grab a blanket, a buddy, and enjoy Take Back the Night! Bands will play, speakers will speak, discourse will be raised. It's what the Millsaps life is all about.
It'll be a blast, I promise. It's Amnesty tested, Millsaps approved.

For Students:
This survey is for Dr. DeRouen’s Writing for New Media class. The final project for this class is composing a multi-media project that focuses on Millsaps or the the Jackson area. We narrowed our project by focusing on the Millsaps bubble, both academic and social. We would really appreciate it if you took a few minutes to fill out this survey so that we can get an idea about what students think about the Millsaps Bubble.

Series on April 29
The final
program of the
2013-2014 Arts & Lecture Series is set for Tuesday, April 29 in the Recital Hall. The program is “How Comics
Treat the South,” and will explore how the South has played a central role in
comics, both as a subject and as a lens through which we view America.
The
program will be presented by Millsaps
alum Walter
Biggins, a former editor in comic studies at the University Press of
Mississippi and Brandon Costello, a current scholar and writer of comics
studies at Louisiana State University. The two will discuss how comics have

MS 5K Pride Run 2014
We are very excited to announce that we will again be hosting the 2nd Annual Mississippi Pride 5K Run/Walk. This Pride Run is the first of its kind of Mississippi, and in its first year alone raised over 2,000 dollars for the Human Rights Campaign. This event in the past has unified the Jackson LGBTQ community and allies, and Millsaps wants you to be part of this community event that will this year benefit the Campaign for Southern Equality. The Campaign for Southern Equality is an activist group for LGBTQ civil rights and liberties that primarily focuses on gaining equality in the South.
The Pride Run will be April 26th, at Mississippi’s state capital, and begin at 2:00pm. Day of Registration will begin at 12:30pm, and will cost 30$ for the general public, 15$ for students, and have free admission for any child with an adult. There will also be guest speakers and various organizations present beginning at 12:30. If you wish to register and prepay prior to March 20th on our online form, you will receive a free t-shirt.
